V. Pearson ineligible to play this fall for Rebs

Postby Po Monkey Lounger » Wed Jun 08, 2005 8:27 pm

UM's leading rusher last season (over 800 yards) will be ineligible to play this fall due to academics.

Appears Dean Wormer pointed out to Bluto...uh Vashon... that he made a 0.0 this past spring semester. The lowest in Faber...uh UM... history.  With all the tutoring and other help these athletes get, how in the hell do you have a 0.0 grade point average??

That is the bad news. The good news is that returning lettermen Jamal Pittman, Alan Abrams, etc.(and perhaps some incoming freshmen, walk ons or intramural players) will get more opportunity for PT.

You see GH22, I am an equal opportunity dispenser of bad news.

It's gotta be so low to where summer school wouldn't pull it up.

it's low... stayed low his entire college career.... like i told you earlier tonight, the last i was told was that he had a chance to make it through summer school, that must have changed.... that is the 1 position that we actually somewhat do have SOME depth, guess it's better to happen there than somewhere else, except possibly WR.

I don't know for sure but I thought they did not even have to pass that many classes to remain eligble.

They have to pass at least 12 hrs per year.

That's not 12 hrs a semester, 12 hrs a whole year.

I didn't believe it either, but the athletic student aid advisor that worked in the same building as I did when I was at MSU told me. I fell out laughing but he said it was true.
