For those that dont believe it I'll try to post pics. when I get them back. I was hunting with a buddy this morning in AR. we had been having a super hunt working on finishing our last limit when a group of about six worked in the pit. All four people in the group started shooting when my buddy shouts at the top of his lungs -WHAT THE HELL!- as I looked over he was holding the barrel of his 4 month old Super Black Eagle in one hand and the rest of the gun in the other! The ring on the bottom of the barrel that slides over the magazine tube had completely broken off during the 3rd shot and the barrel fell off of the gun literally!!! After making sure no damage had been done I did a severe job o rubbing in my new Beretta Xtrema!

hehe, ouch..nothing like a thousand dollar bucket of gun parts. beretta's for autos, 870's for pumpers...wish to heck that I hadn't sold my wingmaster to keep for a back up skillet gun--it never failed to throw some steel. However, you couldn't wrestle my 390 away from me.

I saw the same thing happen to a friend of mine shooting the beacoup expensive "Legacy" fancy wood and ultra engraved sporting clays version of the Benelli Super 90. He was swinging at a bird, SCREECH, next thing you knew his barrel was sticking up in the mud in front of the stand like a spear.

I read a post on another forum where, the barrel literally..shot off into the water.
Seems Benelli might have a QC problem here.

Every since I bought my Beretta 390, my A5 has been a "safe queen"

The more I read ya'll post the happerier I am about buying the 390 instead of the SBE. That would have been a dreadful mistake plus a waste of over 1000.00 clams.

Once again, just cause it costs more, doesn't mean it's better. 870 SP....now there's a real gun.

I hunted with an 870 for 10yrs, never had a problem with it my self, I just wish Remington mada a reliable auto. In lieu of the single shot 1100. But from what I hear, my new 390 will do the job just fine.

Have had beretta auto when browning sold them, special 30" barrel for steel shot, must have been 10-12 years ago...still have the gun after many years of very hard use..
.....then purchased beretta with choke tubes
about 5 years ago...been a great gun..
this weekend..
hunted in a blind that was octagonal (8-shooting holes)with a hugh cypress tree in the middle...back poarch...with grill..ect...
you got the picture...point is all hunters in the blind were hunting with beretta auto's...every one....now that is loyalty.. :

dang uncle walt...that's not a blind, it sounds like a tarzan and jane condo. I'm assuming you got blocks on the water completely surrounding....bet it sucks for the guy who gets stuck on the side the birds aint landing (guess that means he's the cook).

that is exactly right....have to keep turning over the egg/biscuits on the grill...

but it is a fun place to take people who have not hunted very much...also usually have at least one person as observer and photographer....
