Well, I feel like a dummy. I just traded my Beretta 390 for a Benelli super 90. I had no problems with the Beretta, I just wanted a change. I have heard a few Benelli owners say their gun has jammed a time or two, but are there any Benelli owners out there who have had good luck with the super 90.

Don't feel like a dummy, some people still insist on buying a Remington. Will tell you a buddy I hunt with sent his Benelli SBE back to the factory for the 3rd straight year because of a problem with jamming.

You would think by now he would trade that thing for a Beretta. Nothing personal Chip.

While I would never trade a Beretta for a Benelli, I have heard nothing bad about the Super 90. I wouldn't carry a black eagle to the blind if you gave it to me.

My wife and I both shoot Super 90's. Neither one has given us any trouble. I've not shot a 390/391 so I can't make a fair comparison.

I have a Benelli SBE that i got a year ago because all i heard was how good of a gun it was, but after hunting with it i notice that it also jams alot, atleast 4-5 times this year and in my opinion a gun that cost that much money is not suppose to jam. well i guess i will have to trade it in or sell it. just wondering how many people on this board have one, and how many people have had problems with theirs. I got an SBE myself. If you hunt 3 or 4 times and don't clean the fouling out of it, it will begin to jam a little bit. Usually not cycling the shell completely out of the magazine before the shellplate tries to lift it up thus wedging it. It does completely eject the shell out of the chamber without a problem. Other than that it has worked flawlessly for over 4 years.

Chip,
I have a camo 24" super 90. I shoot about 7000 rounds a year. I will clean it about after every 1500 rounds. I love to shoot that gun. It just fits and feels so good. I have not had any problem with it what so ever. I also have a SBE black 24" Both of the guns feel the same. Same drop and everything. It is the real deal. I don't run as many rounds thur it, but I did wipe the mud off of it once. I have had ballistics work on both guns. I have not had any problems with that gun either.

well the one thing that i do is clean the **** out of it, maybe i clean it to much. like u said it ejects the shells out of the chamber but just not completly out of the gun. I could understand if i abused the gun or never cleaned it but i have done nothing but babe it since i've had it. maybe it is time for a new beretta after the season. Mr SBE is for sell. i want something reliable. meeka that ofer u made me sounds good, 75$ and a half gallon, wow what a deal for me haha

SBE's must be for former 1100 owners who can't shake the habit of cleaning their gun after every shot.

I have a hard time accepting the logic behind paying $1000 for a SBE, and then another chunk for an aftermarket "quick cycle" kit to make it shoot (sometimes). And then having to take the cleaning kit in your blind bag to keep it going.

But those that love them LOVE them. It is almost like there is a SBE CULT, so I ain't gonna talk bad about their gun.

I do not own a SBE, but I have never really heard much praise for them. I do own a super 90. I feel like it is the best option for a duck hunter, due to the simplicity of it. They have the best feel and drop of any gun on the market today. I have never had one jam with me. I do clean my guns regulary, but it is not an obsession with me. I have bird hunted for years with Browning A-5s. I would hunt with them, but I hate to think of losing a Belguim made Browning duckhunting. The Benelli Super 90 is the next best thing to the A-5 that I have found. I have never had one jam from the Brownings or the Benellis.

I've had a SBE for a year now. I haven't had any problems with it. As they tell you at Benelli, shoot loads that are 1 1/8 oz. or bigger. I just bought a NOVA the other day. Can't wait to get out there and shoot it.

As a side note, I was in Kansas City over the holidays. There were so many geese there. Over the course of the three day trip I probably saw 200,000 snows & blues. We hunted Canadians from a corn field from 3:30 to dark. They were all over us. Just wish they'd do the same down here.

I have hunted with an SBE for the past seven years. I have shot at skeet and used it to hunt doves and waterfowl. It has never hung up. I don't carry gun cleaning equipment to the blind but I do keep it clean. I keep all my equipment clean. I would not trade the SBE for any other shotgun I have ever shouldered. It is light and points very well for me. Not a gun expert but I do love my SBE.
