I have had 4 or 5. Two of them got "blocked." That is a truly horrible experiance, even with a demerol drip. I hope that you get rid of it quickly and painlessly.

Well I am cooking up a fine one now. I have them regularly, about once per year. I have passed all of mine quite naturally, too. Hurts like hell though.

Oh, if the doctor gives you a strainer. Tell him you don't need it. The last two I passed were big enought to catch in a fishnet.

Ain't nothing like having a rock hung in your d1ck...

For what it's worth, I was told the cranberry extract and saw palmetto helps to eliminate stones. Something about relieving the salt. Sorta like gout in your privates

CaneycreekD,
I had one...know what you're dealing with. Mine was so big that the doc had to put me under and go in an get it (no incision if you know what I mean). I would have agreed to ANY recommended treatment to make it go away.

my cousin had 'em...and claims that his doc told his to drink beer more often. I told my wife a different story about what the doc told me to do--but we can't go into that here....she didn't buy it, by the way.

Good luck on recovery pal.

Know exactly how you hurt!! I've had one in each kidney but it's been over ten years since the last one(knock on wood). Since then I drink cranberry juice every night and so far have not had another one. The cranberry juice makes the urine more acidic and the stones tend to form with a more alkaline ph. After three or four years I actully got to like the taste of cranberry....if it's Ocean Spray. And by the way, from now on every time you have a pain in the side you will think kidney stones...Good Luck

Thanks for all the support guys.

I still don't know if "real" men cry, I do know that I came close...and I damn sure did some cussing.

I do feel a lot better today...back at work Never thought I'd be so happy to say that.

I know exactly how you feel I have had them too. The bad thing is once you have had a stone you have about an 80% chance of having them again, I can recommend a good urologist here in Southaven that can find out what in your diet is causing them and he is a duck hunter to.

I've never had "the Stones" play at my private parties. I have however had episodes of gout. The two are similar in that acute gout flare ups are much like a kidney stone in your joints. Mine was in the right big toe. I was hunting on the river and seriously contemplated shooting my toe off. Instead, I removed my boot and soaked my foot in the freezing cold waters of the big muddy. My doctor told me that a comparative pain study done at UT (Texas) Medical Center ranked the top 3 pains for males as follows:

1. Kidney Stones
2. Abdominal Gun Shot Wound
3. Acute Gout
