The southern part of the state is getting a good blanket of snow right now. I'd say we have at least a couple of inches at my house, and it's still coming down with a north wind of about 10mph. Forecast is calling for some more on Saturday. Hope this helps you guys out. All the water is still open here yet. I know everyone really needs the snow and ice further up north, but it's better than nothing!

Good luck to all...

It can't hurt, looks like a secondary front is gonna bring a North wind along to. Maybe they will fly on south.

Hot Rod,

Great news, and great to be back on the board. I installed dsl from bell south and it sucked. I've been down since saturday. Starting to see ducks in places they haven,t been so the snow up there can only help.

Talked to a guy from Chicago yesterday and he said that all the lakes were frozen and that the numbers of ducks that they were seeing has dropped over the last weeek. They also had about 3" of snow.

I am leaving Friday. If the ducks are still here, I will go out and run them off those ponds and send them toward the Ms delta on Friday morning. So, get ready to shoot them on Saturday.

Dos Gris is right about the snow in Chicago. It is the first of the season. No snow cover here though about 3 hours SW of Chicago. We have had maybe an inch all year and that last for only a day or so. All the lakes have iced over the past couple weeks but this past weekend it did get warm enough to allow alot of the river (Illinois) to open back up. At this rate, the snow shovel will get the year off.

Next time you get up to Chicago Dos, let me know. I am frequently there and we could have lunch or supper if you like.

Looks like we have about 3 inches total. It also got down in the upper teens last night as well.

The forecast is calling for 3-6 inches of snow tonight! It is supposed to warm up in the upper 30's, so it may not last, but these fronts have to be helping push some birds. The news just keeps getting better for you guys!

Good luck,

Today is the first day that they have recorded temps below 0 in the Dakotas, I guess better late than never.
