I went duck hunting with a friend of mine the first weekend in Dec.. When I left my 6 month old lab was jumping @ the gate too go. when we returned my 7 year old cam out the door to inform me that she was dead... I went and looked @ here and yep she was dead as a hammer. I couldnt figure out what killed here my first reaction was parvo but she didnt have any symptoms and she had had all her shots in July when I got her. Then I thought that one of my neighbors may have had somthing to do with her death. Nah I live in a great neighborhood and nobody would do that. Then I thought poision since she had blood on her tounge and looked like she had dirrea before she died, but I didnt have any poision stored anywhere that she could have gotten too . The other day when it got down to 17 degrees I went to check on my water pipes that I had wrapped and insulated and found out that she had gotten to them and tore alot of it off. I guess she had swallowed some of it and figure that was what killed her. Just thought I would post this and let you guys know if you have any insulation where you dogs can get to it, fix it so they cant. Then again I thought she wouldnt be able to get to mine either. I hate to hear that, I know you were probably looking forward to roaming the bottom with your pup for a long time. Them pups love to chew stuff up. This a good reminder indeed.

I remember when you originally posted that. I hope that it was the insulation and not something more sinister. Good luck with the new pup.

My sis is a vet, and she said sounds like classic symptoms of rat poison.

Sorry about your pup but are you sure what killed her?? Would be nice to be 100% so others could learn from your mistake.
