HUNTER SHOT NEAR ON MISS RIVER.... LETS BE SAFE

Postby Hailcall » Fri Jan 11, 2002 4:56 pm

Hey guys. Just a quick reminder to be safe out there duck hunting. If ya hunt any public areas where deer season is still open, consider wearing a hunter orange cap to and from your hunting spot. I have hunted public land alot and I have found this to be a must.

Guy I know was shot 2 days ago while making drives deer hunting on an island on the miss. river. He was'nt wearing any orange as I here it and it could have been alot worse!!! Makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck! Isn't that what hunter orange is for??? He is gonna be alright, but will need several surgeries on his left arm.

Just a saftey reminder. Duck hunters and dogs can be at a preety high risk in crowned areas where deer season is still open.

Take care and be safe guys!

HUNTER SHOT NEAR ON MISS RIVER.... LETS BE SAFE

Postby msdawg » Sun Jan 13, 2002 10:45 am

I just can't figure out how a person can look like a deer through the lenses of a high powered scope. The law in MS is four point or better and Does are legal in some counties as well. How can someone legally pull the trigger on something just moving in the bushes, they can't. It is negligent homicide, you may not mean to kill somebody but you can. It may not even be another hunter, it may be child playing in the woods, or farmer checking his fences. It is just unreal for me to think how someone can do this. I now have to live the rest of my life without my dad because of someone like this.
