12/29/01...30..cold north wind low clouds early...
2 hunters and good dog...

went out in mahanna's north fields...few ducks early...walked out in 3 feet of water in head high coffee weeds....killed a few teal...lots of mallards in field...

saw group of mallards to the west..moved down and then moved into the flooded timber..
clouds now gone...north wind...set up in woods...2-feet of water...worked few groups close but went north 1/4 mile....ok they win...picked up decoys...moved to the ducks...9:28am..set up again...killed 4 woodies...8 mallards...by 11:...

sunday tried it again...8 mallards..2 woodies..,out at 9:

back in the timber monday..12/31/01..set up at 6:30....out at 7:15...8 mallards...1 woodie...

call some friends....they met us...hunting party of 4...2-dogs...water has droped a foot and some ice....(no ducks...no shots were fired.....ducks won, but dog had good time watching....

check with others around belzoni...water droping out of the upper sunflower by a foot a day...but where are the ducks....??

will try to go hunting fri...north of isola...if anyone finds any ducks around mahanna....delta national...or west of isola...let me know ..dog is ready ...take care and be careful...

I am going to be down at Jackson next weekend If it is good as you say I will go but keep us posted.

cato, is the best place to go in on the 4wheeler trail on the right after the woods start or right at the slough and water control structure? Can you give me a little better directions. Maybe I will see you there!!!!!

Hey Meeka, lookin for a hunting buddy. Found a few ducks. Newby, no luck yet. Not discouraged yet. Sure would like to bust one though.
