Wooly Swamp Boys Get Ruleville Lagoon --- Xmas 2013 update
AP Wire Report. In a shocking turn of events in the MS Delta world of duck hunting, the Wooly Swamp Boys from Money shrewdly snatched the hunting rights to the fabled Ruleville Lagoon right out from under the El Camino Crew of Phillip, setting the stage for a potential all out gangland style showdown in the Delta during this offseason. The Ruleville Lagoon is home to thousands upon thousands of wintering ducks every year, including bluebills, spoonbills, ring necks, coots , mergansers, and a surprising number of puddle ducks with a taste for the out of the ordinary. Under the control of the Mayor of Ruleville, Shirley Edwards, and the Board of Aldermen, the hunting rights to the Lagoon have been prized by area hunters for generations. Through a double secret sealed bidding process, the Wooly Swamp Boys were recently announced as the top bidders, prompting a vehement protest by the El Camino Crew of the auction being "rigged", as the Mayor is rumored to be a distant cousin of one of the Wooly Swamp Boys. But, as of the date of this report, this rumour is unsubstantiated and at least deniable.
Jim Jones, a local hunting legend and host of the TV series " Hunting Across America", had this to say about the sitiation: "That is a real, real nice hunting area, and I just hope that those Wooly Swamp Boys hunt hard, hunt safe, and make it a fair chase". Joe Tomanello, an infamous member of the "Greenwood mafia", while being housed in the Tallahatchie County jail for poaching, commented:"I'd sure like to hunt that place some day, with or without a lease". Buddy Morgan, alleged owner of most of the public hunting land in the MS Delta, curtly remarked: "Maybe those SOBs will stay over near Ruleville now". The new cozy co-owners of Buck Ridge were simply giddy over the development and humbly proclaimed: "Maybe now we can kill some ducks too". "Don Miller", a local duck hunting guru who often hunts the famous "Don Miller hole" and is known to drink a little Old Starter and eat boiled chitlins every now and then, said that " that lagoon is as good a hunting place as Fighting Bayou and I can't wait to hunt with those boys next season". Indeed, the members of Fighting Bayou, while declining to publicly comment, appeared to be uneasy about the possibility of Fighting Bayou being supplanted as the duck hunting mecca of Mississippi. Jimmy Chandler of Ruleville was happy with the turn of events, and hoped that "those boys would now need a new ProDrive mud motor and Gator Trax boat to negotiate through all the deep sludge." Joe Ward, the local game warden, who once gave himself and his mother a ticket for game violations, warned: "I'll be keeping my eye on them boys."
Well, there you have it ---the good, bad and the ugly(and smelly) of duck hunting in the MS Delta. Morgan takes the water at Braley. Hosemann gets the Scatters. The Wooly Swamp Boys get the Ruleville Lagoon. Lord only knows what will happen next? Stay tuned.

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

Snookie Flynn and Fleix Earl Redwine Mcgunrdy hunted that Lagoon from 1945-1977.. they said when snookie finally passed that durin the autopsy the doctors cut snookie open and a common red-headed merganzer flew out of his gut and chit right there in the ruleville general hospital. snookie use to eat bout 400 waterfowl a year haversted off the lagoon...
on the other hand felix redwine ate bout 500 waterfowl a year off the lagoon... felix hasn't aged since 1977.. modern mediceine is still investigating and they think their clost to a breakthrough..

"Ya ever work beef Billy?"
I personally know that The Wooly Swamp Boys are purist and "real duck hunters" in the truest meaning of the word. I also know that they would never use spinners, twirlies, wobblers, shakers, or anything that moves that would give them an unfair advantage. So before the purist jump on the ole boyz and start downing 'em for using anything other than a dozen dekes and a call, I am confident that they will turn the chit agitator off prior to each hunt.

This just in.... power has been turned off at Braley. Morgan says power poles are on his property and he is shutting da power off for good.
In other news the WSB's have installed a wind mill and solar panels to provide power and water this project cost little or nothin!
Dawn Millar has been seen trying to tap into these resources so the WSB's have installed NEUTAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Now, you boys gonna have to make sure no one in Ruleville flushes while you are huntin', or you could be cited for hunting over bait!
Quote from the El Camino Crew's pit bull......"bark, bark bark...woof, bark". Loosely translated , he seems to say, "I think this whole situation stinks to high heaven and the whole lease deal is a bunch of crap!"
