Large body of water

Ok, what do you do when all the ducks are landing in the middle of the water? The water is surrounded with tall weeds and some trees. We have hunted from every angle. We've done ok the times we went but there are many more landing in the middle. This field is a flooded rice field. Here's a simple minded person like myself thinkin I might can put a boat with a blind in the middle. What do ya'll think????? :D

Duck Sniper, I'm desperate how about two mojo's kicking in the wind............... Really do you think a boat with a blind would be to much sitting in the middle.

we doing every year and just wind up pissed off after it is over and seeing that we were that dumb to try to hide in the wide open. let off some water if possible and use a lay down type blind or just build something make shift that is small to hide but you aint hiding no boat or skid blind

put so many decoys out in the middle they cant land there and have to land close to you :) and dont think it doesnt work because you have to do what works

Park a 4-wheeler right out there in the middle! Next, see where they choose as an alternate landing area and set up there tomorrow. :D

You said there was weeds and some trees around the hole. Wait until you get a good wind and hunt the edge that is out of the wind. If the trees and weeds are not big enough to block the wind then the only thing I know to do is change your decoy spread to get them to come by closer. Its a tough problem, good luck.

Well, I guess I would put a boat out there if that was the only way and I was not killing anything where I was set up. I agree that maybe you try to take a board out and let the water down a little or set up a whole hell of a lot of decoys out there. The problem you will run into, guaranteed, is that once you take the boat out there and set it up, the ducks will start landing where you were orginally set up. Plus, a boat in the middle out there doesn't really blend into the surroundings very well. But hey, what the hell, it's worth a try.

MUMMY BLINDS ALL THE WAY!!!!! I built mine out of Roundup barrels, we used them in a flooded rice field last year...5 yard shots are the norm. Wow is all I can say.

Put a climbing stand on one of those trees in the middle and go up as high as you can and shoot away!!! I've never done that, but I've always wanted to. Don't know if it is exactly "street legal" either. I can't think of anything else.
