Postby magnum » Sat Dec 22, 2001 12:11 am

12\19\01
North Delta
Flooded beans
3 hunters
12 ducks (10 Mallards, 2 Woodrows)
Excellent shooting excellent day.
We had 9 of the ducks by 7:10

12\21\01
Same place
2 hunters
4 Mallards
Saw VERY,VERY few ducks
Kind of discouraging - considering I thought it was finally about to change for the better.

I think the weather is supposed to get colder so let's cross our fingers

Hunted and scouted around the reservoir here in Jackson. Few to no ducks. Managed to shoot two. Nothing flying or trading. Word from Arkansas is that there are very few birds there as well. I suspect this will change after a week of 20 deg temps.

Central Delta:
2 Pits: 3 Blue Bills 2 Geese.
Had few ducks work but, 1000 yds from one of our pits was probably 10k geese and thousands of ducks feeding on corn and rice. Big ducks too tons of mallards and pintails. Across from a rice field we did not hunt because the pit was flooded another 1k or so ducks. Lots of smileys in that bunch. Driving around, the few places that had ducks, had a lot, the places that didn't NADA. Vey concentrated but, starting to look a lot like Christmas.

Magnum -

We had a good morning 12/21 as David probably told you. Sorry I didn't get to meet you at the barn that morning.

Happy Holidays -
