Anyone seeing ducks at Lake Bogue Homa near Laurel? I plan to hunt there next weekend or sometime soon and would like a report. I don't hunt way back in the back so I won't be crowding your hole, if you are worried.

Thanx

Russell, when I was in school at William Carey, I hunted Bouga Homa with a guy named David Gray. I don't know if he's still in the area but I'm sure he'd be glad to help you out. He's probably in the book. Good luck.

I talked with some of my friends that have hunted BH and they said that there are plenty of divers and a few big ducks but the problem is the number of people hunting. The opening day found over 40 boats with people hunting over people in a small area. Typical, but I am sure it will thin out when and if the cold weather arrives.

I've hunted BH for about the last 10 years off and on. The only time I've seem many big ducks there is when it's really locked up in the north. If you've got say 4" ice from Greenwood north, then you'll have some ducks. When it's as warm as it is now, you have woody's and ring-necks. I did kill a nice Canvass-Back last year though. I hunt in the delta now so I won't be any compitition, but you do need to know where to hunt BH just like any where else. Good luck and ya'll be safe....
