dead lab???
I'm sorry to hear about your lab! I'm not sure what might have caused it, but I will try and ask my vet friend and see is she has any ideas. Again, I'm sorry about your lab.
dead lab???
IM NOT A VET, BUT HEAVY IMPACTS,SUCH AS GETTING HIT BY A CAR CAUSE THOSE VERY FLUIDS
AT BOTH ENDS..YOU REMEMBER IF SHE/HE HAD
ANY RIB OR MIDSECTION DAMAGE?
THIS REALLY SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING HAPPENED INTERNALLY THOUGH,MAYBE CAUSE BY SWALLOWING
SOMETHING OTHER THAN FOOD. STICK,PC OF GLASS,
PUPPIES WILL SWALLOW ALMOST ANYTHING AND THIS
COULD POSSILBY CAUSE THE STOMACH TO GET CUT
OR HERMORAGE....I WOULD ASK A VET,YOU NEVER KNOW WITH PUPPIES...IF YOU NEED ANTOHER PUP
I KNOW OF A MAN THAT HAS SOME PUPS (BLACK)
ON THE GROUND NOW...450 FOR MALE AND 500 FEMALE...SIRE IS A FC AND THE BITCH IS A HUNTEST DOG, POSSIBLY A MASTER HUNTER.

dead lab???
You said it had done had shots, but the blood and diarrhea sounds like Parvo? You can take it to the vet and have it tested, and get the results while your there. Lost one to Parvo last year, and it is not a pretty sight. Sorry to hear about that. My condolences.
dead lab???
I think I know. Same thing happened to me last year. Mine was a beautiful yellow lab that was 10 months old. Of course, I had worked her every day after work and she was on hand signals. Had retreived her first greenhead at 8 months old from deep water... I sure hated it when she died. Anyway, I was inside about 10 pm one night when I heard her yipe a couple of times. I could tell immediately that she was in alot of pain so I got up and looked outsite as I grabbed my shoes. She was laying by the fence and I thought she was caught in the bottom of the fence. So I put the shoes on and went out to free her. But she was just lying there breathing and not moving otherwise. I rubbed her ears and called her name but she didn't move. I called the other "mut" lab (the one that wouldn't die if she got hit by a Mack truck)to the kennel and put her up. By the time I got back over to her (maybe 45 seconds) she had quit breathing. I took her to the vet in Vicksburg to find out the cause. I just knew it had to be some genetic disorder and was gonna chew the hell outa the man that sold her to me. She also had blood coming from both ends. Vet said it was caused by a blood clot in her intestine that dislodged and went into the lungs. He said it usually happens when dogs are free ranging and eat road kill or meat with a lot of fat in it that irritates the intestines. But mine was penned and nothing but Kasco puppy food. And other than the sticks, bones, etc. that she chewed like all pups, I cannot figgure out what happened. Maybe that it is genetic and that's why some of them die so young. I'm still disgusted about it and still cannot bring myself to train another dog. So damn much time to form a bond and then nothing.
dead lab???
Sounds like Parvo to me. Those shots help prevent it, but they are not a guarantee that the prettiest 6 mo old puppy you ever saw won't die with it after getting the shots every 4 weeks. Parvo pups don't usually go that quick though...

dead lab???
I am sorry to here about the loss. I too lost a choc lab to some type of disorder. She roamed free and was found in my front yard.Blood coming from both ends. She had exhibited some other symptoms that evening. She would'nt eat and just moped around.
I have a black female now and about two years ago (she was about twelve months old then) I found her convulsing in the yard. If I had not of found her I believe she would have died. She was having trouble breathing. My wife took her to the vet first thing the next morning only after she had another seizure. the vet explained that she suffered from some form of epilepsy. He gave her about ten pills to take and she has never suffered another attack. Not sure what he gave her but he was familiar with the disorder (his own german shephard had also had it)
Sorry again!
