Concordia Hunting Club

I don’t want to start any rumor mongering, but I was told there is an interesting land issue going on right now with Concordia...in that there is a theory the land doesn’t exist...legally speaking.
Anyone heard about this issue or know anything about it that cares to enlighten us?

Are they claiming that island in the river as theirs that was formed by the 7+ rock dikes?

No, apparently a legal claim was made by someone saying that some of the actual land that is Concordia Rod & Gun Club is not lawfully owned. Something to do with Arkansas not claiming the land as being owned by the state of Arkansas. The version I heard didn’t make sense, but is apparently being litigated.

Was once hired by a client to survey 40 acres 'more or less' by the river where the legal description included a statement like "less the accretions of the Mississippi River." The Client wanted to make sure the land was still there before he wrote the check, and he had a survey from the 30's that showed the parcel as having about 83 1/2 acres. When we surveyed it, all that was left was just over 3.
The client did not buy the property.

Looking at the map, it certainly appears the river may have giveth them some. Is the lawsuit over the taxes? I don’t see how anyone else could have a claim to the land.

I am honestly not sure. Just throwing it out as I am sure someone knows. I’m not asking for privileged information that would not be public record in court filings. Just want to know if anyone has heard anything.

I'd be interested to know as well. Since it probably has something to do with Reeves Neblett, you can bet it is interesting to say the least. Pass the popcorn.
