I know this should be on Dog forum but this site gets all the attention.
Dear Abby,
Is there a small dog trainer anyone knows of who can HOUSE BREAK a yorkie. I don't have the patience for this dog and tired of it peeing on rugs and my wife throwing the rugs out. I don't care if the trainer is in Montana if he / she can get the job done.

Re: small dog training
Know its frustrating! Have you tried crate training? Put to dog in a kennel, let it out to pee and crap, then back in the kennel, it should figure it out on it’s on, don’t Pee or poop where you live, my last 2 dogs were crate trained, 1 went 13 years before he made a mess in the house and then it wasn’t his fault, cancer, going on 3 years and the new dog hasn’t made a mess yet

You’ll need a small kennel
Re: small dog training
And when it does it’s thing outside, praise, a whole bunch of praise, it’s worked for mine but never done it on a small dog

Or a box in the kennel so that the dog can't just venture to the back of the kennel to relieve itself.Odis wrote:You’ll need a small kennel
Do this and the dog should be house trained in no time - - unless the dog is just dumb as a brick.
Nobody owes you anything.

Re: small dog training
What they said... also, yorkies are known to be hard to house train. Once our yorkie "got it", she got it. Rarely does she have an accident in the house.
Re: small dog training
Agreed on the crate training.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)
