Looked at a few places mid MO and it seems as though some freezing up north is on the calendar. Granted some of the ducks will chill out, no pun intended, but it should lock up small water and fields for a few days. This should push some new fowl south, or at least I’m hopeful. It’ll take a good 3 day freeze to get them moving and it seems like they’ll have those days. Granted the wind don’t blow and other variables that keep holes open.

I’m going to go ahead and say that youth weekend will be one to remember. 9 year olds can handle 3.5” number 2’s right? Asking for a friend.

Just curious as to thoughts, given Sunday and Monday will be pretty cold. Do you think the fields will lock up any on those days or just skim ice that will melt off pretty quick? Trying to get a plan together...

I didn't encounter any ice. The howling wind kept everything open. We saw a few on Sunday but Monday was a bust. Couldn't hunt anything inside the levee as it was flooded out. Took my boat out and am washing my hunting clothes. I'm done with this bust of a season. Hopefully next year will be better.

Looks like weather north of us (st. Louis) is dropping to single digits next week!

ESE wind tomorrow Im going to smash! Ive killed every limit this year on a south wind.
