Alright boys and girls your about to hear Peewee's thoughts for the day:
No need to beat around the bush. I am sure our Commissioners are fine men. But it dumbfounds me when we have lawyers, editors, and bankers as the decision makers for our states natural resources. I pulled this right off the MDWFP website.
Quote:
The Mississippi Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is composed of five persons appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, for a term of five years.
One Commissioner is appointed from each of the five (5) Congressional Districts as they existed prior to 2000.
I know a many of fine men and women whom are actually QUALIFIED with academic and real world experience credentials who could lead our great state in making sound decisions. It is a shame that our elected politicians use these positions for political gain.

X1,000,000
Just another MS good ol boy network complete cluster, aimed at perpetuating said network while neglecting fulfillment of their reason for existence. It’s such a backward arrangement, it’d be comical if it didn’t have such negative impacts on something I care so much about.

At least Dr. Polles has real-world wildlife work experience.
I know Billy Mounger made his fortune when Telecorp PCS sold out to AT&T for 4.7 billion.
Don't know the rest. I assume they're also businessmen.

Not trying to be a smart booty, but what real world experience does Dr. Polles have?
The others on the commission would surprise me if they have any real world hunting experience if you combine all of them.

When you choose politics over science that means nothing.

At the national meeting of The Wildlife Society last week, I saw Mike Phillips - MT state senator and head biologist for Ted Turner - deliver a passionate request for scientists to get more political.

Ok, but that does not imply nor justify that wildlife management decisions should be advocated based on popular opinion (i.e. politics) versus science.

I don't disagree with you. Just wasn't aware of what you were implying re: Dr. Polles.
