This quote is from this month's MDWFP online newsletter:
"""More than 1,500 white-tailed deer samples have been collected in Mississippi since October 1, 2017; 697 of those deer samples were collected from Mississippi's 25-mile Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Management Zone, which encompasses Claiborne, Hinds, Issaquena, Sharkey, Warren, and Yazoo counties."""
I couldn't find the answer in the rest of the article, so does anyone know where and/or what other counties were tested, to account for the remaining 803 samples???
I read that Louisiana had tested their portion of the 25 mile zone, which was across the MS River, but again, I couldn't find how MDWFP broke down all their figures.
CWD sample collection question.....
Re: CWD sample collection question.....
Good question. The Response Plan had their county by county goals. I’m not sure if that totals to 805 or not. I *think* these samples were probably roadkill deer, outside of the CWD mgt zone.
