Worst Thanksgiving I've had in a while...
Lose my grandfather last weekend, lose Fitzgerald, lose the Egg Bowl, lose Mullen and sounds like we're losing Grantham and others as well (although I'm glad he's taking Hevesy). Went from a football high Thursday at 6:29 to an epic low

. Funny how things work out.

With that being said...
Sounds as if they've offered Jeremy Pruitt which is Bama's DC. What say ye?

Sorry to hear about your granddad.
It's a bad time to be hiring a coach in the SEC. When LSU has to settle for Orgeron, UF has to settle for their 3rd or 4th choice and UT can't find anybody, it ain't good for MSU. I can only hope Cohen surprises me again and pulls through on this one. When you look at Mullen's last contract, it makes you wonder if Cohen knows what he's doing.

I can't see why any coach in their right mind would want to be in the SEC these days.... But then again, for the salary ranges these boys are getting, I'd hit it. Fire me after two games, no biggie

Haha I'll take my buyout now. Thanks!
Guess I was looking at false reports like others yesterday afternoon with the Pruitt thing. Looks as if they are still going through the interview process. From what I've gathered thus far its:
Jeremy Pruitt - Bama DC
Joe Moorehead - Penn St OC
Chad Morris - SMU HC
Plus a few others...
A lot of people speaking highly of Cohen and his abilities to make this hire so we shall see. If he makes anything close to a Cannizaro type hire we're in good shape. One thing is for sure though, whoever comes in is inheriting a stacked roster. Just need to save face in recruiting to make sure there is not a big drop off after next year. Last thing we need in the state when it looks like OM may be down a few years.

Some reports say Cohen fielded several calls from interested parties right away. How about that!
Joe Moorhead is my favorite.

Any on that list would be better than Mullen. I like Pruitt but he will need to get a very good OC.

If Moorehead can get Grantham to stay I think State will keep trucking along.

I think Moorhead is a good hire. Im not a big fan of hiring defensive coordinators. I prefer great offensive minds who hire great defensive coaches. I’m pretty sure Moorhead has the first part of that equation at least.

Would really love to keep Grantham.....
Still no word on him though. Haven't heard anything trustworthy about him yet. Fingers crossed.

I hope we made a good choice. Only time will tell. Next step is hit the recruiting trail and hold our class together. Than kick Dan in the nutts for trying to poach States recruits. That is about as dirty as a head coach calling escort services
