I don't recall ever hearing about this story. I wish their hunting privileges would have been suspended longer.

Got the taxidermist too. That fella doesn't even list a price for bear on his website now

These aren't the brightest poachers in the world obviously.

How do you cause someone to kill a bear? I would love to hear all the details of this story.

I am guessing he told a youth to kill it and that was the way the judge got the youth off the hook.

What I heard from my best friend's cousin's boyfriend who knows this kid who's going out with this girl who said...

Party 1 shot bear with an arrow and tracking ensued. Party 2 shot and killed wounded bear. Both parties transported bear to taxidermist who accepted animal. Problem was bear had implanted tracker and, apparently, bears don't travel 65-70 mph on Hwy 45 and turn themselves in at taxidermy studios. GW showed up at taxidermist who was "out of options" after a relatively brief discussion.

I wouldn't have a problem nailing party 2 if I knew all the facts. Party 1 shot a bear at close distance (Archery) and knew his intent when he decided to kill the bear. Party 2 may have put the bear out of his misery.

I see your point. And also without knowing all the facts, in my mind they both should have racked up on sentencing when they both transported the animal to the taxidermist.

It's a bad situation, but I'd have loved to be standing there, looking at that tracking device receiver, when it showed that bear speeding down the highway, then turning in the taxidermist's driveway.

My thoughts after talking to my friends in LA.

Also, while the did mess up and deserve some punishment, its just an animal. No need to ruin someone over it. People get less for the killing of another human at times.
