Hunted this AM and was greatly disappointed. Saw more ducks when it was 70 degrees.

Jim we saw a bunch of ducks this morning but they wanted to be in the river more than they did where we were.

My crew hunted Thursday and Friday ahead of the storm and did very well. We didn't go today because I'm sure our place is all frozen over.

Ducks have moved in but couldn't keep the field open. Where there is open water, there is ducks

We busted them up on Saturday and saw 1000's. Some of the biggest group of "Big" ducks I have seen in years. But we were in timber that didn't freeze over. The field around were locked tight. Hunted Sunday after 2 cold days and they were gone overnight ..... no high fliers, no nothing... even though we did break out a nice hole for them

Huntr, what kind of situation were you hunting to do that...limits three days running. Open water in a field? Open water in flooded timber? Private or public? Just trying to figure out how they react to the weather we had...thanks!

With the extremely low temps we had, the "X" that ducks want gets super small. If you are on it then it's game on. If you aren then it is close to impossible to decoy them. I find both duck and deer hunting get pretty hit or miss when it's this cold.

Like others have said, ducks were here a day before the front, then everything froze up. Had 3/4" of ice on our flooded fields and still not enough water in our flooded timber, so no ducks. We'll see how it goes this weekend, but at least it's been a good year for killing bucks so far.

Our place is flooded rice fields in SE Arkansas. Ducks were there Thursday thru sat but gone Sunday. Ducks left last time it froze up a couple of weeks also.
