Every store I've called they've asked, Are you sure you want Wild Country mud grips? We can fix you up with some Buckshot Maxis mudders for $100 less. I do a lot of riding on the highway and don't need those whinning buckshots on the truck. The Wild Country's do not hardly make any noise and last a long time.

Probably the cheapest place to find Wild Countrys is Hesselbein Tire Co. in Jackson. That's where I bought my 285/16 RVT's for $550 mounted and balanced. I'm sure you can find some 265/16 TXR's for under $600. I don't have the number on me, though. The Gateway store on Stark Rd. has some decent prices on Wild Countrys.

GH22. I just bought a set of the 17' Buckshot Maxxis Mudders for my 98 F-150 Extended cab. I love them. They are no way like the original buckshot radials. They don't have the lugs like older radials and sure don't have the lugs of the non-radials. I drive back and forth from Olive Branch to Collierville, TN everyday for work. They don't bother me a bit. I also have 7 week old twins and it doesn't seem to bother them at all. My cousin has the older buckshot radials on the same year and model truck and was amazed at the difference in the ride and sound. Just my 4 cents.

I'm getting the RVT's for $539, mounted and balanced, tax included here in town. I was looking at some pictures and the TXR's appeared to have better grip, but they don't. I was looking at the radial versions of the tires instead of the mud grips. I called Hesselbein and priced them for $529, but I'll save the gas money and get them here in Charleston. Thanks for everyone's help.

I've been calling around to some local towns and the cheapest I've found is $600. I'm looking for the TXR, the more aggressive tire, not the RVT's. 16" 265's is what I'm looking for. After this rain my street tires aren't going to get me nowhere in that gumbo mud.
