My trigger man got off to a quick start this year with a good bird on the opener, which coulda/shoulda been a double. I saw them commit to the death march from an opening, into the woods with us. I told Blake to shoot the first good chance he had, and I'd worry about the other. Well, he rolled his, then jumped up like terminator racking that shotgun. Of course the other bird didn't care for this.. So close, but I think worth the trash I'll be able to talk for a long time.
Easter weekend he got a chance to redeem himself. He sat tight after the shot that time, and we managed to double. Highlights of the year so far, for sure.
