Found this just off a small lake in a piece of property i just inherited between Utica and Raymond. Any idea what this is? Seems like some sort of well???

Let me come out during turkey season and take a look.

Strictly a guess, but I would say they use to pump water out of the lake to fill up chemical tanks or a water truck.

Exactly what I was going to say. I have seen a set up very similar to this in the past and that was what was going on.

that is what it is. We have those on some of our fish ponds.

That's kinda what I thought but was thinking its a mighty small lake to sustain that.

280 acres. Was part of my granddad's cattle ranch but they haven't run cows on it in 25 years. We inherited it when my grandmother passed a month ago. Has mixed pines and hardwoods on rolling hills. Hoping it's gonna produce some birds.
