worked my dogs yesterday afternoon........all was well....then this afternoon one of them had 2 of them about the size of a quarter on her back.......

have been down that road myself recently with my yellar male. he was bad about getting old drenched matted up blobs of hair, and it basically causes and irritant kind of allergy I guess..... best solution I found, give'em a good bath, dry 'em off, use a dog brush to get out all of the loose hair you can get a hold of, and then call Dr. Payne to get the name of the topical spray he sold me. Had my dog fixed up in two days....
Shave the affected area(this is the key), clean with hydrogen peroxide, and get a topical antibiotic preferably one that dries although Neosporin will work. Keep dry and medicated. It shouldn't take much to knock it out.

This comes from a Merck rep I met. Her dog had bab allergies, she did everything-testing at the University shots everything.
Then she talked to one of those back to earth hippies and they suggested to use Head and Shoulders shampoo.
Well it worked for her scottish terrier I think and its worked for my black lab. The zinc something in it is an anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agent. Anyway get them clean with a mild shampoo, then put the Head and Shoulders on them and let it soak for about 5 minutes.
My dog has mild allergies, and had had no more skin problems since Ive been using H&S about once a week or so.
This begs another issue,......we need to get some mut in these labs that still retrieves, is lovable and looks good. Hell a mut never gets sick and damn sure never dies!!!!!!
