Got a report that its headed to 47 ft at Helena by Jan.9th...............
thats strong, deep, and wide.

That is the crest projection at the end of the 5 day forcast. Also it's on the 28d forcast. That sucking sound will be the ducks heading to the flooded lowlands.

this is where I go and it shows Helena at 33 ...28 day shows it not going above 33 with a 1/5 crest date
off course its early, am I missing something?

Gene Rench............river prediction......National Weather Service out of Mempho.
He is always close..............he pegged the 2011 flood height really close..

It's showing 52 ft on Natchez gauge, our deer season is done, but the ducks, now that's gonna be a whole new can of worms,

, I say bring the water and some weather!!

That will shut down a few things.
Public notice 3242
Between October 1 and February 1, no person shall take, catch or kill, or attempt to take, catch or kill any wild bird or wild animal, except waterfowl......
Desoto, Tunica & Coahoma west of 61 and north of 49 closed at 34 and reopened at 32 on Memphis gauge.
Coahoma, Bolivar & Washington south of 49, west of 61 to intersection of 61 & 444, west of 1 and north of 82 closed at 41 and reopened @ 39 on Helena gauge.( Not sure about this one now that the Arkansas City gauge is being used.)
Washington & Issaquena south of 82, west of 1, north of 14 closed @ 48 and reopened @ 46 on Greenville gauge.
Issaquena, Sharkey & Warren south of 14, west of 61 and north of Big Black River closed @ 43 & reopened @ 41 on Vicksburg gauge.
This went into effect on August 20, 1992.

2011 here we go again. Projected 51 at Vicksburg 57 at Natchez last update and I'm sure it'll move up some more. Steel bayou gates I'm sure are shut or will shut ASAP, lots of water to still come down. It's fixing to get nasty. We need some kind of cold weather now!

This is bad. Real bad. For folks that hunt on the river and have witnessed this pitiful deer herd I'm afraid to see what the future holds.

Little Sunflower gates probably shut now. The Sunflower is backing up in the woods already.

New forecast shows 51' at Vicksburg on 1/15 (FS 43') and 56' at Greenville (FS 48').
