Boats and fog

Just a simple reminder to be careful. When visibility is low, slow down!

Heard of a near accident yesterday. Everyone came out fine, think a few dents in the boat and a few stinky waders were all that were damaged, but could have been bad.

Figured I'd just send out a reminder. Ain't no duck worth it.

A couple of boys very nearly died on the Tallahatchie Refuge years ago this same way. Bad foggy, and ran up on a stump. Boat capsized and they hit the water. They all swam to the bank, but then almost froze to death before a friend of mine saw them and gave them a ride out.

had one at Whittington opening week end. Guy turned in time but knocked motor off boat. Could have been bad. Unless you have radar on your boat stay home GPS will get you killed in the fog.

I got turned around in bad fog on the Tenn-Tom one morning and nearly had a close encounter with a barge. Learnt my lesson.
