guns
hey man i bought my wife one at wal mart the beretta and we hated it and got rid of it but you might like it there is a reason they are selling them at walmart for that you would be better off buying an 870 an 1187 or put 200 more with it and buy a franchi they are really nice the camo ones are 700 but you can get a black one for around 600 but that is my 2 cents

The Wally World 390 is a well-built gun......only difference between it and the silver mallard is the magazine cutoff and engraving........that's it. It's well worth the $529 plus tax.......if you can find a 12 ga.......only been able run across 20 gauges since I lost my 390 last december. It's a very good gun.........never had any problems with mine.
Beretta came out with a 3901 series last year.....same as the wally world 390.....except it had a smooth receiver.....not the hump. It was discontinued last month to put more emphasis on the 391 series of guns.

The 390 is a fine gun...I don't know why the WalMart 390 would be any different than the Silver Mallard that I once had. The performance of an automatic in the duck blind depends 100% on the process of cleaning and maintenance. I don't care what kind of gun it is.
The first thing I would do is strip every bit of factory lubricant from the gun with gun scrubber..then oil it LIGHTLY myself.

run me out in the cold rain and snow
Actually the Wally World 390 is made here in the US, while the 391 is made in Italy. There was a special on American Shooter (OLN) not too long ago. Really cool show, Berrett, Benelli, and Franchi are now owned by the same company.
Why not save your money and get a camo 391. Better resale value, lighter recoil, and if you keep it half-way dry it will work.
Swann's in Jackson sells them for less than $850, I think.

I have to say I love my Walmart bought 390. I shoot it as much as my high dollar guns. It cycles a bit slower than my old Remingtons but it is fun to shoot.
Make sure you do what others have said and clean it thoroughly before your first shot. It likes light oil, and I have found it to stand up to tough dirty conditions just fine. Hard to beat the value for the buck, far as I'm concerned.
