Is anybody?
Actually confident with their team right now? LSU and Ole Miss both control their own destiny right now. Bama has to win out and hope Ole Miss loses an SEC game. State still has a long shot of making it to the championship game. Does anybody actually feel good about their teams chances? I know I really don't.
Re: Is anybody?
Short answer: Nope. I'm maroon through and through, but I don't for one minute believe we have a chance at running the gauntlet
and making it to Atlanta. We have Alabama....At Home. The only reason we have a chance at all in that one is home field advantage.
But that didn't help us that much with LSU this year. For us to beat Bama our defense has to have the best game they've played all season,
Dak has to have the best game he's played his entire career, our running game better come out of nowhere and our O-line better play like
they've never played before. This is the only chance we have of winning that game. I think we can win the others until we get to the Rebels
and then you never know what will happen in that game. Doesn't matter how good or bad the teams are, it's all thrown out the window in that one. But this still means that LSU has to loose to Bama and Ole Miss for us to make it if we win out. I don't see them loosing to either of those teams. LSU takes the SEC this year. Riding on the back of their O-line and Fornette.

To get to the SEC title game... I'm feeling pretty confident. Only Vandy and South Carolina are in the way.

Absolutely not. I think LSU loses this weekend, squeaks by Arkansas the next, loses to Ole Miss and then squeaks by Texas A&M.

Nah. I think Ole Miss CAN beat Arky and LSU at home, assuming they play on a level with the A&M game. Which, because WAOM, is a big assumption. Hoping Conner coming back will reduce the downfield burn pass plays we've been giving up. Without that, the Auburn game wouldn't have been anywhere close.
But even if they win those two, I'm not confident they will beat MSU in vegas. I predict a total bar fight in that one.

I don't have much faith in state beating Bama. The only thing going for them is that Bama and lsu are gonna battle a week prior. But it was the same situation last year and we $#!+ the bed only difference we'll be at home.
I believe we can beat ark but it's a road game.
Egg bowl is a toss up.

State is going to split with Bama and OM...not sure which way...but they will win at least one of those games.

Forgot about our resident gator fan. Yes you should be confident. I thought McElwain was a good hire but I never dreamed he would do this well this fast. They possibly could be undefeated if Grier had not been suspended.ufgators68 wrote:To get to the SEC title game... I'm feeling pretty confident. Only Vandy and South Carolina are in the way.

I could see that happening. If State could get the run game going that offense could be scary. Dak is quietly having a great year. Wish he was getting the Heisman love he got last year.Deltamud77 wrote:State is going to split with Bama and OM...not sure which way...but they will win at least one of those games.

The last 4 years have put a serious ding in my confidence level. The 38-10 whooping of Ole Miss helped but I'm still worried about the last two SEC games.mshunter77 wrote:Forgot about our resident gator fan. Yes you should be confident. If McElwain gets the Gators to title game, without another loss, he should be coach of the year.

I think UF still has a good shot at making the playoff. There is no dominant SEC team. I think that if UF plays OM again..they beat them again. If they play LSU on a neutral site, they probably win and I think they can beat Alabama.

Re: Is anybody?
I agree with all of the above but to add, I'm even a little worried about tomorrow night's game against Mizzou. Rain is in the forecast and without much of a running game that may not be good. You're not gonna chunk the ball down the field as much when its raining so Dak and either Lee, Williams and maybe Dear are gonna have to step up. Mizzou's offense is horrific but their defense is leading the SEC. Should be interesting.mshunter77 wrote:I could see that happening. Re: Is anybody?
With lsu and bam both in top 4 in playoffs, what happens if bama loses a close one but wins out and lsu loses to ole miss?? Would bama still be high enough to stay in top 4?? Looks like ole miss can't get high enough unless they win out which is a huge task but ole miss could wreck the sec in a few scenarios.
