MS Sports Medcine

Still dealing with knee problems even after surgery back in January. I had a town meniscus and apparently moderate to severe arthritis. I went back in August to get some injections to ease the pain, and it worked but only for a few weeks... My primary care physician thinks its time for a 2nd Opinion.. Any ideas on a good knee doctor at MS Sports Medicine?

I would agree he does come to Delta State, I don't know if that would be quicker than seeing him at his office but it might be worth a shot.

Been in medical field 20 years and would advise you for knee issues to seek the services of Jason craft. One of the best around on knees that I have seen. Also he is at ms sports medicine. You will not be disappointed.

Jeff Almand. He replaced my fathers left knee last year and will be doing his right in December.

Those guys that do total joints, aren't really the go to guys for the smaller things like torn meniscus, ACL, MCL, etc. Almand and Mehrle are two of their big total joint replacement guys. Shelton and O'Mara are two of their guys that do the more fine surgeries.
It's sort of like the difference between a framer and a finish carpenter.....

Some guys replace knees. Some guys do scopes and sports medicine.

Craft is top notch as far as scoping and dealing with meniscus injuries. He even does physicals for a pro team at the combine.

Thanks guys.. I will see about getting set up with Craft... Drs say they are hesitant to do knee replacements until age 55, but I can't go on like this for another 11 years.. I got to get this fixed..

One of my closest friends just had his 4th knee surgery since March and has been to 3 knee specialist around the world via the New England Patriots. The last Dr he saw basically called the other drs idiots for not fixing the problem the first time. My point is even guys who have injuries in the Super Bowl end up needing multiple doctors. Dr Linton in Columbus has always treated me but not were knee injuries. But I do know several people who have had knee injuries and bounced back through him.

Jason repaired my torn bicep (8 yrs ago) and torn meniscus (2 months ago). I'm good to go!

Dr Barrett at Sport Medicine did my knee surgeries 17 years ago.

Just got down with my 2nd surgery this year.. Torn meniscus repaired and apparently no arthritis. Hopefully Dr Craft got it fixed this time.. Hoping for a speedy recovery in time to still catch the prime rut!!
