Thanks for a great time in Starkville. My son Andy had a blast shootin with some expert duck hunters and so did I. Glad I'm not a duck.....unless I could pick out Goosebruce's blind...jus kiddin...hope we can make this an annual event.

I had a good time too. Fun shootin' skeet and the breeze with everyone. Definetly gotta do that again. Thanks to Anatidae (hopefully I spelled that right this time) for hosting it, it was a blast. Now if I can just get rid of the chiggers.

Jumpin' Jack flash it was a gas,gas,gas. RLJames, your son Andy is a darn good shot and not afraid to get in there with all of us. I give him two thumbs up and this advice: Rub Ben-Gay on the shoulder, repeat process.
Hey Jeff, Mrs.Booger cooked up those speckled trout within an hour of my arrival home and man they were hmmm hmmm good. She and I are most appreciative. She has other plans for the duck breasts.

Welp, I spent half the day trying to figger out who's young en that was... Till ya'll went and got in the truck to leave, i didnt know. Fine young man you got there, Im sure you know that.
I had a freggin ball. For those that missed it, you ought to kick yurself right in the pooper. Always fun to put together who is who, the folks you hit right, and the folks you was WAYYYYYY off on (gh22 comes right to mind! hehe).

I did learn something after my friday night duck/goose/corona souge, followed by sats goosey meat/gumbo/fried turkey.... Lots of food out there the human body could live off by itself... Waterfowl aint one of them. A persons digestive system just aint set up for processing so much duckmeat....Had to stop and git 2 peices of greasy gas station pizza on way home...It didnt fix whut ales me, but it sho made it nicer! hehe. Went & shot nuther 6 boxes o' shells today, might have my groove on before goosey season afterall. travis

Sorry that I missed it. I did manage to meet Delta Duck and Scooter over the weekend, though. I hope that I can make the next one.

Guys, I had a blast, too. Thanks for all your help. Without the people, it would've been a bust....not to mention all the great food, fun and the laughs..."enough to knock the cotton off a biscuit"....(you'da had to'a been there to understand that one, right Travis?).

GH22, I'm sure Travis meant that in a good way. Ya'll, GH22 was a big help to me, in gettin' things set-up AND 'tore-down' in the aftermath...we shot pool and 'tapped the Rockies' 'til around 8pm....Thanks GH! That was a 'Killer' redfish sauce, man!

20 shooters shot (at) around 1500 targets, and the way my shoulder feels, I must'a shot about 300 of those, myself.
I too, was impressed by the three youngsters that were there....glad they were not shy about gettin' out there with us. Hopefully, Andy, Miller, and Kirk will remember this gathering as they developement as waterfowlers.

My biggest regret (other than the chigger outbreak) was that I was so involved in keeping the targets flying, that I really didn't get a chance to visit with everyone as much as I'd liked to. The time just seemed to fly by.
My second regret is that I inadvertently left two bags of gumbo, 2 pounds of Boudain, 4 smoked teal, and some marinated pork chops, that I had planned to share with ya'll, back at the house. Thanks to ya'll, I had plenty to eat. That was a great turkey, Micah...you did a fine job of cookin' that thing!

I had the teal an 1 pound of boudain, Sunday, one bag of gumbo, the other pound of boudain, and two pork chops, last night. Travis, I know how your stomach must have felt, now (that 1st pound of boudain hit the bottom of my stomach like a brick!). I'll have the other bag of gumbo, tonight. If I survive all that, I know I can endure ANY party.

A special thanks goes to Clark Hartness pres. of the GC. (He was the guy that offered instruction and ran the 5-stand field) He was a big help, too!

I feel like I made some friends this weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone, soon. Thanks, again for making the effort to attend and making this thing a reality. It was well worth it, to me!

I agree with Anatidae! I enjoyed every minute of the cookout! We should try to have another cookout later this year and maybe we can have even more people at it. The food was GREAT and the shooting was good too....although I need to shoot a lot more to be as good as most of the guys there! Good luck to everyone this duck season.

Seriously, I do hope there is another gathering of friends this fall. Just make sure it's not on a home football game weekend. I've got season tickets and I can't afford to miss one of my Dawgs ballgames. [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

I'm looking forward to coming over to the gun club, meeting all of you and letting my 12 yr old have a crack at those sporting clays. He's never shot clays from houses....only my arm throwing them and a ground launcher I have. He shoots a 20 ga 870 Magnum and is pretty good with it. Better than me sometimes.
