Hoover Sauce - Rumor????

Postby Unlucky Duck » Wed Jun 03, 2015 12:45 pm

I heard and I pray it is only a rumor but the FDA shut him dowm from selling anymore because they would not list the ingrediants. I sure hope this is not the case. Anyone heard of this?

not a rumor, but not exactly correct, either. he has the nutritional value/ingredients stickers in the works. anywhere that had it had to send it back to him until the stickers are approved for marketing.

he will sell again and when he does, it will be more widely marketed...with proper labeling.

*and this was from mr hoover himself...not a friend's girlfriend's great aunt uncle roy said it*

reckon the price will jump? I'm almost out and about had a stroke last time I spoke with him and he told me about the FDA issue. But glad he will be back in biz.

Hope the sauce doesn't disappear like .22 ammo when it hits the shelf. Not sure I want to pay gunbroker fees + 5x cost to get a gallon.

I've got two loaves of white bread and a gallon jug of water.

Thank God for the FDA mandating stickers on my favorite grilling sauce from Louise, MS. Who knows what could have happened if I had continued eating that sauce without their supervision? Likely a very close call ---send shivers up my spine just thinking of it. Yet another example of the good stewardship of our taxdollars by our federal government.

Meanwhile, we are being flooded with fish/shrimp-like substances grown in the chemical cesspools of Vietnam and China. Nothing to worry about or see here folks. I'm sure its all FDA approved. Bon appetit.

And to top off this sarcastic rant, the FDA is now apparently after my cigars. Apparently, its AOK to grow and smoke weed (despite existing federal law to the contrary --- as if that really matters these days), but those cigars must be regulated out of existence --- they are just too dangerous. Why, just look at George Burns --- he passed away at the tender age of 100.

This, of course, means WAR.

Tell me more about this Rob. I just got some fresh tuna steaks and just so happen to have about enough sauce for probably one more meal. You marinate in Hoover Sauce then sear the steaks in cast iron skillet?

No, I rub Tony's creole seasoning on them then sear in olive oil. Dip in Hoover as you eat. My little brother brought me 5# from Blalock's in Gulf Shores last week. It surely is delicious.

I was in there a week ago. There was none on the shelf. Stan said they probably wouldn't have any until September 1. Or later.
