Are they as good as I'm hoping? I've listened to a few concerts on the line and I don't like all the weird flute crap they do but everything else seems jam up.southdeltan wrote:Steve Earle is opening for them.sevenhead wrote:Tedeschi Trucks coming to Livingston Market May 16
My wife and I saw TTB Thursday night in Memphis, looking forward to seeing them in Livingston/Madison/Jafrica/whatever.
They're awesome. I have to admit that during the flute solo and one or two of the other extended jams things get a little strung out but it's a risk you take with improvisation. They seem to only let the flute/keyboard player (Kofi Burnbridge) have one flute solo. I wish his brother Oteil was still playing bass for them, the new guy isn't in the same ballpark. Susan's vocals/guitar and Derek's guitar work make up for any indulgent flute solos. (Let me be more honest, I was thinking "stop soloing" during the flute stuff - he wasn't bad on keyboard and the horn section ruled).sevenhead wrote:Are they as good as I'm hoping? Funny you guys bring this up about TTB. I had never heard of these guys until this past weekend. My Father & Mother-In-Law have been to the last two Crossroads Music Festivals and they love these guys. We were over for Easter on Sunday night and they were showing me these two on the DVD that they had for the Festival. I like her voice and he can just straight tear it up on the guitar.southdeltan wrote: Susan's vocals/guitar and Derek's guitar work make up for any indulgent flute solos.
