I've got my mind set on a 20 gauge auto. Would use mainly for squirrel but I'm sure that would change as I shoot it and prob all be an all around gun. Doves, duck, etc. several guys I know hunt the benelli M2. Pretty expensive gun but from everything I read worth it. On the opposite end of the spectrum is the Stoeger M3020, a third of the money and got great reviews.
Any other suggestions? Anything I need to consider? Go!

I bought a Franchi 720 a couple years back with the intentions of my wife shooting skeet with it. It has become my go-to dove gun and I duck hunt with it pretty regular as well. It's a great shooting gun, and I haven't had any problems out of it.

I have an older Stoeger M2000 and love it.. Also have a Weatherby SA-08 in 20 Gauge.. Sold a Franchi that I wished I hadn't. FYI Stoeger, Franchi and Benelli are all the same action..

Same action, different components. I had a stoger, liked it a lot. You could tell they barrel metal was cheap and thin as you couldnt touch it it wouls get so hot after a couple of shots.

My mom had a Benelli 20 that I took over a few years ago. I really like it. Wasn't that impressed with her Franchi. It just seemed to have a lot of mechanical issues. I also have a Remington 1187 that I bought to help a friend out and it shoots great as well.

I bought a youth Remington 1187 for my son a few years ago and haven't had any problems with it. Just bought a tristar youth for my other son. Too early to tell about it so far.

Franchi affinity... Use it for doves, also use it in timber on ducks. Fits me perfect.

Any mass produced 20 gauge auto will be good. Winchester s3 20 gauge is another fine option, as it is designed for waterfowling. I'll add that at 5'9, 155 lbs a 20 gauge is a better fit for me. That translates into dead ducks. I kill as many ducks as the other guys in the blind with the 12 gauge shooting 3.5 shells. I

Went with the Stoeger m3020. Spent three days reading reviews on every 20 auto I could. It never got bad marks. Put my hands on every 20 auto Vans had and it felt as good as any. $550 in camo with three chokes, not a bad deal. I'll give a report on it next couple of weeks.

The faux wood grain kills it for me and always has with some Berettas -- and I'm a Beretta guy.
