Thinking of getting a silencer for Honda Fourtrax. Seems reasonable <$200. Does any have any experience with these?

They are suppose to reduce the muffler sound, but do not reduce engine noise..... The one I bought for my 680 rincon did neither..... HOWEVER I did not listen to it from a distance to see if I could notice a difference...

I have one on my 300 works great but mine is a small muffler think it a fiat ..went to local muffler shop they welded a nipple in the reg muffler... then we added pipe (which is attached with bracket in case I want to take off) muffler hangs under my basket ... cost me bout $60

I made one for mine.

bought a threaded replacement muffler at tractor supply

welded a 3/4" pipe nipple on the muffler.

then I took some coarse Stainless steel wool and lightly packed it inside the muffler then threaded it on.

Been running it like that for 3-4 years on my 300. its probably 20-30% quieter

I bought a Polaris EV this year and haven't rode the ATV since.

I've put six of these on different bikes from 300's to 800's.
obviously it works better on smaller engines that have less engine noise as stated earlier, but I have a Rincon and I noticed a big difference BUT it is based on how you drive.
If you keep it in auto and haul butt, it's still loud. Now if you put it in manual and gear it up but drive slow, it makes a big difference.

You guys are showing your age trying to make your ride quieter. Those youngins are buying mufflers to make them louder. Oh well those days are gone.

I have the benzsilent rider on my foreman and it made a world of difference. You don't hear that pop-popas much that is associated with atvs

+1

This is what i have on my 450 Foreman and it works great. Yes, it takes the pops out of the exhaust. Engine noise is about all i hear anymore.

I am telling ya ...just look into putting a regular small car muffler on it at a muffler shop ....that's all the Benz etc are...group I hunt with all have the benz or electric on their camp and you not allowed your machine on property unless you have it ...mine is as quiet if not more than all of theirs and a lot less money

its hard to notice the difference on a side by side will sitting in it and driving it - it seems louder when your in the "cab"

It made a world of difference on my rhino, just not in the cab because of the air intake. Outside, it was much better

Save all yall money go to autozone and get a 10 inch piece of radiator hose that fits snug in your exhaust and then zip tie to rack makes it noticeably quiter than I've heard with a silencer
