Back to work...what MSU needs to do to beat AU

Getting a little tired of all the hype...it's fun, but ready to hear more from the media/analyst about the real breakdown of these two teams. I see these two teams being very similar on offense. Both can run the football, both have QBs who can pass the ball well and create plays with their feet. Defense may be the big keys to how this game unfolds. MSU still is lax in their secondary. Honestly TX A&M had some wide open guys who just dropped the football. As the game went on and MSU grew with confidence and the DL started to wear on that OL, the MSU secondary seemed to also play better. Still they are a group that worries me. Auburn defense looks solid but have seen some RBs make good some good runs against them. Looked like Kansas State had their chances on some play action opportunities as well. If this was last year's AU team I would think MSU wins hands down (talking AU team that went to NC), but with the better QB play today than they had in the early season last year and a tougher defense this time, it will be a pick 'em game. But we do have DAK :D

got to be able to control them on 1st down and force them into 3rd and long situations. Win the turnover battle and chalk it up as a W. Marshall scares the h3ll out of me with his feet. The first sign of trouble and hes getting up field for big gains. I think that our LB's can run with him though.

they said Mckinney runs a 4.4 40 at 225 lbs, that is just crazy!! Not sure about Richie Brown but being a pass coverage type MLB I bet he is fast also.

With Richie Brown's 3 interceptions against A&M, he reminds me of Johnthan Banks. Mr. Right-time Right-place. Ain't nothing wrong with just being where the ball is on a given play.

I think it will be one heck of a ball game. I believe State pulls it out due to home field advantage. That being said if State doesn't play a full fourth quarter we loose. Dan needs to throw the prevent D out the dang playbook.

I see this being a very close game with either team winning by a field goal. It depends largely on which defense can contain the quarterback and who wins the turnover battle.

I agree. State keeps it close if they can control the deep threat. One long ball doesn't kill them, two or three may. If Auburn can't find an answer for the Dak, Robinson combo it will be a long day for them. Both teams are so similar in their schemes on offense it will be like playing their self for both teams. Nick Marshall needs to have a bad day throwing and State wins.

State has to do what they've been doing. Hit them in the mouth early and often.

If that's the case, I'd be more worried about MSU kicking a field goal.

And this...is what scares the hell out of the State fan in me.

Force auburn to throw and state wins. If nick has a big running day then watch out. Stopping both qbs running is the key and I give passing edge to Dax.
