I posted earlier about my ipad mini with the dead battery....Apple says they will replace it with a new one for free, after they receive my old one....problem is, it won't boot up....therefore, I am unable to delete all my personal info.(passwords) from it, before sending it to them.
I've always heard that a big magnet will erase that kind of info. on some devices....is that just a myth, or will it really work???
Magnets and ipad minis.....
Re: Magnets and ipad minis.....
that only applies to spindle drives not flash memory and even then it's not reliable. Will it not boot even when powered via USB?

You can erase it with "Find My Iphone" app. They'll reset it anyway though.

It would need to be powered on and have internet access for that to happen.Deltaquack wrote:You can erase it with "Find My Iphone" app. They'll reset it anyway though.

Re: Magnets and ipad minis.....
Has anyone ever had a problem with their screen jumping and changing to different sites while browsing the internet? I can't seem to do anything on mine without it closing page or opening another one.... anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, i knew they would install new battery.....they would see that someone was trying to erase it when they powered it back on. I probably shouldn't, but I trust Apple. They don't have the type of employees that we do around here.edub20 wrote:It would need to be powered on and have internet access for that to happen.Deltaquack wrote:You can erase it with "Find My Iphone" app. They'll reset it anyway though.
