I'm not a fan of them in an open field with no natural cover to blend with..................but getting tired of layout blinds on every hunt!
So seriously considering buying one to see what happens.
Not really wanting to spend 5-600 on one until we know it will be effective on this particular field.
If any of you guys have one or know anyone with one that will let go for a decent price, let me know.
Max capacity = 5 shooters & a dog.
Thanks__sj

Re: sled blind
I would just build one and can be done for well under $150-300. We have some that we have been hunting with for 8 years and will use again this year.
Let me know if your interested and I'll tell you how we build them.

I would like to see something like the AvianX A-frame blind (yes, they sold me on the show). Not going to pay what they want for it, but would try to build one.

Re: sled blind
The best sled blinds we have are made out of conduit frames and square chicken wire for the top/walls to zip tie brush too and are the ones I'm referring to using for 8 years and going. Weld the frame up out of conduit to look like a sled on the bottom and lay a piece of plywood in for the floor. The great thing about the blinds is they are light enough one person can pick a end up and turn it around if the wind changes.
We have also done this with a wood sled base, conduit/chicken wire on top and we've been using them for 5 years and going. Also on both set ups you just have a rope, winch cable, or chain that you throw over the ball of your atv/utv and pull them to your hole.

Talk to the shop teacher at the local high school. They are often looking for projects and if provided with the material and plans the labor is FREE!
Day late and $1 short... Lol
Sent from the middle of no where and the state of confusion.

I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.
Re: sled blind
Cant imagine 5 hunters and a dog, but...if you can find an old aluminum boat, build blind on the boat, float to location, then pull plug. IMO, much easier to relocate if needed.

Don't be sliding that thing around too much. I don't want to have to look hard for it when I come poach it.
