USACE, Vicksburg District - Public Notice - RVH-MVK-2014-394 - Honorable Phil Bryant, Governor of the State of Mississippi



The state of Mississippi is applying for a Department of the Army permit for the discharge of dredged and/or fill material in approximately 118.64 acres of jurisdictional wetlands, 18,457.32 linear feet of jurisdictional stream, and 1.93 acres of ponds for the purpose of constructing a large manufacturing facility. The project, as proposed would include the removal of the existing timber for the construction of a 5.2 million-square-foot industrial building and operations space, a 32-acre parking lot, 52.75 acres of dry detention ponds, a 14.5-acre wet detention pond, and 9,500 linear feet of new railroad spur. The project is located in section 16, T6N-R2W, N32.37148, -W90.414025, within the Pearl River Watershed, Hinds County, Mississippi.

5.2 MILLION SQFT building is big

Had a buddy tell me yesterday that there have been discussions of an arms company possibly coming to that area. No idea if it's true or not but it was the first I have heard of anything of the sort. Will be curious to see what comes of it if anything.

I heard the same thing a few weeks ago either a gun manufacturer or an ammo company. The story I heard was it wasn't a done deal

I can't imagine a arms company being that size. I believe it was a German Company that put a steel mill at the Caddo Parish Port.

Prob a Wheel manufacturer. They see the market for the 28-32'' on the Donk's.

I heard about it back in June from an engineer friend that was working on preliminary site selection........i guess they figured out where to put it.
The client was super top secret so i still don't know who they are.
The proposed industry is anticipated to use a LOT of water though. Don't know if its for processing or emergency standby.

Not firearm related, but it should be announced in the next 60 days
