Any Guys in the REPO business??

I am starting a repossession company with my Brother and wanted to see if I could pick someones brain who is already in the business about what lifts to buy/software and other issues.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Ive had guys call my office thinking they were going in it. Insurance(propper) is expensive. Just one repo truck usually runs $8-10k annually.

^^ is that from the risk that goes w/being repo man or because the equipment on the truck is so expensive?

Both. As well as you become responsible for anything "on hook". And the amount isnt just $5k beat up cars. The limits the companies you contract with make you have(and they need) are pretty stout. Its a litigeous business for sure.

I was just about to say that and it's hard as hell to find a carrier to write that type of business. I just went through all this with a someone. Towing = no problem, throw repo in there and company's run for the hills
