Vaccinations
How many people here does it their-self and if so which ones and where do you get them
Re: Vaccinations
The only problem with doing them yourself is if you ever need to board a dog and need proof, they won't just take your word for it.
Re: Vaccinations
Correct, plus you can only get your rabies vaccination tag through a veterinarian so you are going to have to take your dog in to get that shot anyways. Some co-ops carry a rabies vaccine but once again they will not take your word that he was vaccinated, meaning if he bites anyone then he will be put down and his head sent to the state diagnostic lab for testing. Not to mention vet clinic vaccinations are of higher quality than most of what the co-op and other places carry. I have seen several dogs vaccinated with co-op vaccines come down with diseases they were supposed to be vaccinated for, the vaccines have to be kept at proper temperatures or they can crash and not be effective. Personally, I wouldn't trust Ol' Joe at the co-op or the middle men to have kept everything properly stored/transported as they should be. To be quite honest its not worth the hassle if you ever plan on taking your dog anywhere for grooming/boarding/traveling/etc and since you will have to take him in for a rabies vaccination anyways, the difference in cost is negligible.
