Is there anyway to tell how old they are by looking at the battery? What about a way to test them?

They have a number on the post that will be the indicator. I cant recall if its like 08 or N8 something to that effect for an 08 battery. I guess you could charge and load test individually.

A load tester used for cranking batteries won't always be accurate. You can test by overall voltage drop. I am assuming these are for a golf cart? I may be able to help you with any questions, my # is 901-412-7631.
