Thinking of going up there this summer for 3-4 days. Any good experiences for anyone? Where to stay, what to do? Thanks, just looking for a place to sit back and relax a few days.

It's a great place to have a good time. You can camp by any of the nearby rivers for relatively cheap and catch a bunch of trout or rent a boat and go ski on lake Norfork.

Trout and enjoy the scenery on the river. Kayaking down the river while fishing is a blast

Gaston's Resort on the White is awesome - you can rent a boat there or just wade right in front of your cabin and tear em up - great restaurant that sits over the river too - stayed there about 8 times....it's about 20 mins from Mountain Home - my buddy owns land around Norfork in Henderson----turkeys everywhere there....love it up there.

Norfork River Resort-right where the North fork goes into the White River. You can get a trout guide or you can catch plenty on your own. Norfork Cafe has a great breakfast.

Contact David Luttrel(1-870-421-5063) with David's Stripper Service for a guided stripper trip on Lake Norfork.

Been to Norfork before. Camped out on the bank of the river below where the white and norfork come together..AWESOME TRIP, a buddy's family had some land on the bank so we left MS State and went for the weekend and camped out, had a heckof a time., loved it....tie the boat up and make sure you lift the motor or it will be sitting on the ground in the morning!! Water rises during the day and at night it falls WAY out.

Spent a many of weekends in college camping a fly fishing in the town of Norfork. Didn't get "into town" much. If you drink, especially the spirits, better bring it with you as most everything north of Little Rock is dry. We used to camp at McClellans, but they've sold it. It was a good time. Not too terribly much to do up that way but just chill out and fish.

There is a very nice liquor/beer store in Salesville now, which is about 3-5 miles from Norfork.

If memory serves me right it is a dry county so you have to buy beer on the way there

i have been going up there most of my life. we generally stayed at Gastons since they have a nice air strip and it made for a quick hop from the house. my dad and i both have landed some nice browns right there close. my dads best was a 13lb trout on a white jig.

cabins aren't as nice as they once were, but it is still an awsome place and the restaraunt is pretty good. if your taking the wife or kids, a guide is worth every penny, you won't have to worry bout knoted lines or baiting there hooks guide makes it super easy on you.

watch wading the river and dont count on being able to, its used for hydro elect generation, and they may open the gates without much warning and the water comes up pretty quick depending on how many gates they open.

just my $.02
