They won't go forward without Phil.
I really respected these people before, but seeing them walk away from a lucrative deal on principle only elevates their status in my eyes.
What if our elected "conservative" leaders had this kind of courage and faith in their convictions?

I agree about the Robertsons. I respect them more now than before.
Sick of the activist gay/lesbian agenda, and other rampant political correctness that stifles free speech and our other constitutional rights. .
While I don't agree with or condone the gay/lesbian choice and lifestyle, I have never felt "hate" toward such people, respecting them as human beings. And I had no problem with them having the same civil rights as others.
But, the gay/lesbian agenda seems to not be limited to just achieving equal rights under the law, but includes demanding a moral equivalence. And that, IMO, is crossing the line into territory that infringes on my and your constitutional rights of free speech and freedom of religion. This gay activism is making it very difficult for me not to dislike these folks. My heart is hardening.
Screw the A&E Network and all of its channels and shows. I won't be watching.

This is good to hear. I bet A&E was not betting on this happening. If you want to support the family buy duck commander product and not duck dynasty as A&E gets a cut of duck dynasty stuff.

Never thought I'd look at the LGBT Facebook page but some of y'all should look at it. People are coming from every where and slamming them hard.
I read a very interesting point and thought maybe the lawyers could chime in on this hypothetical. I read the GQ article and Phil says nothing about hate. In fact all he says is that it is his personal belief that be homosexual is a sin and against his Christian religion but that we should love everyone regardless. For expressing his religious beliefs A&E "suspended" him. Is this not a violation of the Civil Rights Act for terminating someone because of their religious beliefs. Maybe that is why they went the "suspended" route instead of saying outright fired.

So now (as we all feared would one day happen) quotes from the Bible can be considered "Hate speech".
The pulpit is next..................................

I'm a bit more optimistic. I believe that far left groups and liberals are seeing that they pushed mainstream America a little too far. It happens from time to time. Kinda like a few years ago when Walmart labeled Christmas trees "holiday trees" in order to appeal to atheists, and then walked it back after their product was massively boycotted. Or when president Obama tried to impose limits on gun ownership in the wake of Sandy Hook and was overwhelmed by public outcry.

I have read things where they say that DD can still be a hit without Phil, and that Phill should wait a few months then schedule and interview with Oprah and them make amends and apologize.
I really don't think these people have any clue who they are dealing with.. I don't see Phil apologizing or the family going on with the show without Phill.
I think the whole family walks and A&E will be sitting around wondering "WTH" just happened...

My biggest fear had been that the family wouldn't stand beside him. Gained even more respect for them after last nights press release.
Now comes the legal wranglings between them and A&E. I would think they have some pretty heavily worded contracts that lean towards the side of A&E when talking baout walk outs, quitting the show, etc. It's going to be interesting to see if this plays out through negotiations or through the court. Either way Barbara Walters said the other night that their total net worth is estimated at 80 million (which I thought was low considering the merchandising and mass appeal) which is nothing compared to the coffers of a large network. Theoretically A&E could break them holding things up in court which I don't think the Robertsons would care about.
Will be interesting to say the least.

200,000 an episode split between all family members ain't a lot. Their buyout can't be much by the robertsons pocketbooks. Without Phil there is no show. Phil is tired of them demanding god be cut out and wanting them to fake crap etc. Eventually the contract runs out and then A&E will be screwed. Hey can make the show boring etc or buyout their contracts. I am sure CMT would gladly up the ante for a piece of that empire....400 million in retail sales???? I bet the shirt..I STAND WITH PHIL... Sells millions!!!!!!!!
As for an interview with opera.....I don't see it happening. Opera basically said all old whites have to die to end racism....where was the boycott??
I was glad to hear under armor say no way were they pulling out on Phil as well as some other big brands.
They should take a break.... And come back on another network. It would be a HUGE hit with people wanting them back. To many people watched due to it being a FAMILY show not a Miley Cyrus vma show. Phil is getting more exposure now after his comments and will be even more in demand when this is sorted out but if I was the family there would be no negotiations after this contract is up. Change the name and start a new show..DUCK EMPIRE!!!!! It's time good people are actually rewarded and not crucified.
The media did it to ol Timmy tebow every week just praying he would mess up. Never happened!!!!!!! They hate to see a christian succeed!!!!

Someone has to be off on their net worth numbers.... these people have a WHOLE LOT tied up in family owned land alone!!!

i bet walmart is one of the bestest retailer of the duck dynasty brand. if they cant sell them i bet walmart pulls off the shelf. i doubt a&e wants that and a bunch of unsellable merchandise.
i respect willie a lot more now for standing with his dad and what he stands for. did yall see where that while all this was happening Phil was at church with his prayer group praying for friend, church and community member that is fighting cancer.

whats so ignorant about it all is this.... A&E suspended him from the show.... but... A&E community website advertises that you can support phil's family by purchasing a "i stand with phil" t shirt from redbubble.com(or something like that)??
i guess theyre milking it for all its worth?

X 2, excellent post and I agree with everything you said. I have thought about Tebow several times since all this broke. If you really think about it, the world is trying to persecute these men the same way Paul was persecuted. I would love to see America pull its support from A&E and show these clowns that there are still a lot of Christians in America.

Cant you just imagine the A&E execs setting around saying "what the heck"!!! Sounds like they picked the wrong horse/group to run with. 3.5% of the population or a larger percentile that includes hunting, gun toting, truck buying, bible carrying, camo wearing, christians....................................
It makes me want to go to wally world and pick up a decal, duck call, and Uncle Si tupperware glass!
