There is a contract on it. I just wonder if the hunting is any good. I know the guys that made the offer and wanted to know how the hunting is.

Depends on what section sold. There are holes in there that can compete with anywhere in the country. There are other holes in there that are just deep holes of mud and ducks never hit.

What about the south end, west of the elevators and southwest of the elevators? There is a camphouse between the 2 tracts. Thanks.

Not sure how it works but the Gov. (Corps of Engineers) has some land that encompasses a portion of that brake. I think, not sure, but think they are working with the State to try to make that area, 2k+ acres a WMA, All that replant on the west of the brake is Corps land and a part of it goes out into the brake. So how would that work, if the public had an access point to the brake to load a boat, could they motor around the brake or woudl yall say they would be tresspassing

If thats the case it will be some type of canned draw. Go to spot 26 and hunt. Thats the way all the new wma's have gone.
I guess it better than nothing for some people but i dont care for it.

That aint happening nor is it "in the works" That same rumor was on 2k acres inside the levee now its on the corps ground next to the brake. That corps ground is closed to hunting and fishing and will be. Love internet rumors

That 2k acres (Pushmataha Plantation) inside the levee has not been considered for cooperative agreement with the state, for the Alligator and Island Lake properties, it had been explored, but I believe due to budget reasons and manpower from the state it hasn't been done yet. HGowever the Corps has installed gravel roads throughout teh property in advance and preparation fo an agreement. I used to hunt this Corp land some along with other Corps land around the delta. I had a really good hole aroudn Belzoni, until the State got it in a WMA and out the HQ's right across the street from the best hole on the place and now you can't hunt it. I think we meet at that Corps land around that brake in Alligator one morning a few years ago Bullet (if this is who I think it is).

Drove by the brake today and noticed something that got me to thinking about this thread. There's already a public road running across the brake on the county line. What's to stop a man from putting in a boat there or is the brake not considered "navigable waters"?
