Planting Buckwheat

Postby okie guide » Fri Jul 02, 2004 6:06 am

Do any of you know if buckwheat is worth a try and if this is something worth planting in August. I have heard that it only has a 45 day maturity time but don't know if that is correct. Your help would be appreciated.

I hear more about planting buckwheat in more northern latitudinal states than in MS for waterfowl. I don't know a lot about the planting and management practices for buckwheat, so I'm not much help there. I will eventually try some here in Ol'Mississippi one day though. Deer are known to feed on it.
