What kind of food do most of you guys use? I have a 6 month old lab and have been feeding puppy chow. I was told by a friend to switch to Purina pro plan puppy at 6months. Just wanting to know what you guys are feeding dogs this young.

Most folks I know running competitive dogs feed either Pro Plan Performance or Euk 30/20 (whatever they are calling it this week). Loyall is making some inroads. I feed one of mine (the young, crazy one) PPP from the freebie sacks at HT's, and the other a prescription joint food.

I've been very happy with this one. Used to be $38 for 50 lb sack, but they've dropped it to 40lb now.

I used to be hard core Euk Pro 30/20 until they priced me out of the game. It isn't so much to do with Euk as it is where I live and getting it here. I have since switched to Loyal Pro. I have never been able to get the 50lb bag for the $38 GH22, but it was around $42. I now get the 40lb bag for a few cents over $36. I believe it is 31/20 or something like that.

I'd look into loyal's ingredients, it's got some stuff that I don't particularly care to feed my dog. But after Angus died the death he did (kidney failure) and myself and the three veterinarians I went to determined it could have been (and research is steadily proving that it probably was) low quality dog food- whether or not if it was marked premium, leads me to admit this is a subject I may a bit picky over.

Right now I am feeding Bodock 4 health puppy formula. It's tractor supply's brand of food. It has some pretty good ingredients, my dog seems to like it, and it gets pretty good reviews.

I wish like hell I could find Victor dog food around my parts. It's very competitively priced and has premium ingredients. It's U.S. based and they have good customer service. The breeder I bought my dog from fed it and it's some good stuff. I just cannot find it anywhere around here.

Pro Plan Focus. I do not use Pro Plan Proformance due to my cazy dog. She is wild enough do not need the extract that Prof give.
I would keep the pup on Large Breed puppy up to 1 yr no matter what food you feed.
Mark- You might not want to feed Tipsy Prof since she is a little cazy to. I figured this out when I still had Devil. As long as I did not feed prof he was a little better

Your right Mark but you should have seen Amber when I was starting feeding her Prof when she first started training hard. It did make a difference to take her off of prof and put her on maint.

I may be in the market for a new feed I think Sams may have stopped carrying what I feed (Execced) been very pleased with it but they'v been out for 3wks.Is there anybody in Tupelo carrying Eukanuba or PPP and is the stuff I'v seen at pet smart Blue Buffalo or something like that worth anything?I picked up a bag of Loyal just to get by on it's a Nutrena feed and as posted eailer I also did not like some of the ingredants. My vet use to carry PPP but now only sells Science Diet.
