I got the pope and chop poster boy tue afternoon.
Got three years of pictures of this buck. knew he was 4.5 and I really wanted him off our farm.
got lucky and killed him on a trail headed to my bean field where I was getting pictures of him almost every evening after dark.

How much you want for that yeti cooler behind you? Oh wait, this ain't the Classifieds section is it...
Good deer. Let me get a bite of his "poke chops" when I come home for Thanksgiving.

Aint no way that qualifies for pope and chop, especially being a recurve kill.

That is what I was thinking peewee. Don't sell yourself short swamprooter move that bad boy to the big buck thread. We don't care about net score he grew all that and it counts. Was that one of your homemade bows?

Stuck this monster Saturday afternoon. I've hunted private land that I've had permission to hunt for the last 4 years with the consideration that I don't shoot any small bucks. Saturday I decided I'd slip out to a public WMA not far from my house partly to scout for ducks, but also kill two birds with one stone by climbing a tree over looking the back water slough with my bow just in case a deer came by. I didn't see too many ducks, but this little 5 point came by 20 yards away, and with no size considerations to worry about and no deer in the freezer yet this year, he got an arrow. It's the smallest buck I've killed since my first when I was a kid but heck, I don't get out much with 1 year old twins at home, and on public land (where rifles are legal), I'm half way impressed with myself for killing anything at all.
I also found out the swing-set/tree house I bought this summer for my kids works great for hanging deer (the wife didn't agree)

If you hang your deer from your kid's swing set.... You might be a redneck.

By no means a monster. My first bowkill and first deer in AL since moving to Montgomery last year. Taken 1/30/14 in Lowndes Co.
