The new "record" cottonmouth that was found in Florida? Somewhere around 7 or 8 feet in length and 87 lbs........ That's a big snake!

I just don't believe in an 87lb cottonmouth.
Big snake, yes. 87lbs, I would have to see it on certified scales to believe that.
The alligator gar i'm holding up in this picture was 55.4lbs. There is no forced perspective photography going on either, it's being held close to my body.

Me either. I saw a clip of the news report and they never showed the snake, only a picture, and never talked to anybody "official" like a biologist, game warden, etc. Just the news reporter and some local. No hard core facts to anything.
And the link posted doesn't work

Think about this logically.

The "tines" on that tractor are about a foot apart right? That would make that snake about 4.5 - 5ft long, at the most.
It is forced perspective. here is a good example from that blog linked above.

Regardless, it is still a big @$$ snake. And if I had seen it, I would have killed it with a steel tyne totin' tractor too.

Nice fish! I've shot a bunch with a bow but never caught one with a rod and reel, need to try that sometime!

Logic? You can't bring logic into this! That would make too much sense

Like the forced perspective pic though. I'll have to save that.

Yea regardless if it weighed 80+ lbs or not..... Just eyeing it, it's a big ass snake! Off with his head! Oh but watch out cause it can still bite even though it can't strike!

It certain looks to be a massive cotton mouth. I would be blown away if it did in fact measure 7ft. I'm sure 7ft cottonmouths exist, but HIGHLY unlikely.
For reference, this is a verified 90lb python being held by 5 football players (second guy on the left is 6'5" 250lbs). It's about 10 ft long. It there are cottonmouths out there this size, well...I won't be turkey half the turkey hunter anymore (and I'm not very good to begin with), because I won't be going out until it's light out and I won't be looking anywhere but down.
