Back in the late 1990s the fishing was pretty stellar at Caroline. I probably haven't fished it in 10 years. Is it still any good? I have heard they have a catfish problem that has diminished the bass and crappie fishing. Any truth to that?

Yes there are tons of catfish in there. So much so that some of the people that live out there have catfish "rodeos" once or twice a year to see who can catch the most overall weight. My fiance's dad lives out there and i've been out there with him a few times. We spent 95% of our time in the fishing only part under the little bridge and caught 5 or 6 each time with only 1 being over about 2lbs (it was around 8lbs). Not sure how good it used to be in the 90's size and numbers wise but there are still some good sized fish in there from what I understand.

There is a catfish problem. But they catch a lot of them. The bass fishing is not as good as it once was, not because of the CF, but because several years ago there was a bad fish kill that killed a large majority of the big fish. They are working with a management company to get it back in balance but its just not like it used to be. And its a private lake by the way. You have to own a lot.
